FossCon'24 Code of Conduct



In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as organizers, speakers, attendees, and volunteers pledge to make participation in our conference a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

Our Responsibilities


Conference organizers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable behavior and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any instances of unacceptable behavior.


Scope


This Code of Conduct applies to all conference venues and events, including talks, workshops, parties, and online forums associated with FossCon'24. It also applies when an individual is representing the conference or its community in public spaces. Examples of representing the conference include using an official conference e-mail address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed representative at an online or offline event.


Enforcement


Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the conference team at fosscon24@gmail.com. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

All conference staff are obligated to respect the privacy and security of the reporter of any incident. During the physical conference, staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference.


Addressing Grievances


If you feel you have been falsely or unfairly accused of violating this Code of Conduct, you should notify the conference organizers with a concise description of your grievance. Your grievance will be handled in accordance with our existing governing policies.
